The Talking Heads for LA Times
I think a lot about relationships, the complications, the projections of self onto the people we choose to include in our lives, how they become mirrors reflecting images we sometimes do not want to peer into. I brought this idea up to arguably one of the greatest rock bands ever, how I was curious about extracting the individual artist’s identity from the overarching moniker - ‘The Talking Heads’. I wanted to show the group, in a fragmented way, their bodies obstructing the view of each individual, a way to articulate this idea of the complexity of identity and it’s resulting form within the context of it’s inception.
